HARDWASTE COLLECTION
Stonnington offers two hard rubbish collection a year, generally in Spring and Autumn. The dates for the collections are set by the council 3-4 weeks before the collection will occur.
Stonnington generally accepts the following:

Bundled green waste (tree cuttings bundled with string, must be tied with natural fibres)

Electronic appliances

Scrap metal
-
Mattresses and bed bases

Soft furniture (e.g. couches, sofas and armchairs)

Miscellaneous (clothing and textiles, carpet, pottery, ceramics and china, mirrors/window glass or glassware which is securely wrapped and marked ‘GLASS’
Stonnington does not usually accept the following:

Paint, chemicals, motor oil Cement sheets, building materials

Batteries Tyres Gas bottles

Household garbage and recyclables
-
Wooden pallets
-
Fire extinguishers
-
Any items longer than 1.5m (except mattresses).

Accepted items can vary by collection so it is importnat to check before each collection. Non-compliant items will not be collected and any cost for disposal will be on charged to the lot responsible.
Dopping off items

Items for collection can be dropped off in the loading bay on B2 up to 24 hours before the collection date. No items can be dropped off after 6AM on the collection day.

Items must be placed in the loading bay in a safe and orderly manner. If you are unable to do so, contact Building Management for guidance.

Items dropped off ater 6AM may not be collected and any costs to dispose of these items will be receovered from the lot responsible.
